MATLAB is a high-level language and interactive environment that enables you to perform computationally intensive tasks faster than with traditional programming languages such as C, C++, and Fortran.

The University of Maryland has a campus-wide license that provides access to MATLAB, Simulink, and a variety of add-on products. All faculty, researchers, and students can use MATLAB on their personal computers and laptops.

User will be prompted to verify university account upon license expiration.

Description

For the standalone version (server access not required), follow these instructions to associate your existing product with our updated license:

Go to the Mathworks portal, and click 'Sign in to get started'. Login with your existing Mathworks account or create one using your UMD email. Do not initiate any downloads unless you want to replace the software you currently have.
Open MATLAB on your computer, click 'Login' (top right corner). In the pop-up window, enter your Mathworks email address and password.
After logging in, go to Home > Help > Licensing > Activate Software
Select 'Log in with Mathworks account' and click 'Next'. Login once more with your Mathworks email address and password.
Click Select a License > 40638913 > Next. Modify your username if you like, and click through until it says 'Activated!'

Close and re-open MATLAB. In the command window, type 'license' and press Enter. It should return the license # 40638913
Go to the Apps tab to view the toolboxes you have. Add more toolboxes using the 'Get More Apps' option.
