Remote Desktop Services for Windows Server License

Remote Desktop Services for Windows Server provides technologies that enable users to connect to virtual desktops, RemoteApp programs, and session-based desktops. With Remote Desktop Services, users can access remote connections from within a corporate network or from the Internet.

Faculty and staff of the University of Maryland College Park (UMD) only. Software can be installed on machines that are owned by the individual and must be used for work-related purposes only. Software must be uninstalled by the individual after they leave the University.

A license must be purchased for download access.

• Remote Desktop Services External CAL (Unlimited Client Access Licenses) = $2,943.90
• Remote Desktop Services Device CAL = $55
• Remote Desktop Services User CAL = $55

Faculty and staff that need to order a license can email order-slic@umd.edu from a umd.edu address with a software request.

• Put "Software Order" in the subject line.
• Include full name of product and number of licenses in the email.
• Provide the name and directoryID(username) of the individual receiving download access.

A Software Licensing associate will call you to verify the information required to complete your order.
